SNAGG TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The Snagg ® Microchip - an RFID (radio frequency identification device) tag - is an passive radio device that, when scanned, emits an alphanumeric code number unique to it alone. Snagg microchips are functional between 25° fahrenheit and 125° fahrenheit, and are not adversely affected by sealants or epoxies used to enclose them in the body of musical instruments.

When scanned or "activated", the embedded Snagg chip – buried inside the musical instrument, amp, etc. - emits a code number unique to its asset.

Snagg chips are as small or smaller than a grain of rice, require no power source, and have an estimated shelf life of 80+ years.

Snagg chips are installed in a way that prevent removal without ruining the instrument or greatly reducing it's market value, a very significant disincentive for thieves.
